In 1953, the first generation of the Merrell family set upon an idea to create a specialist casting company in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery Quarter. Their goal was to offer the highest quality precious metal alloying, casting, jewellery finishing and bespoke services using unbeatable British craftsmanship.
Today, Merrell Casting is a leading A to Z service provider in the British and European jewellery sector with an unrivalled offering that fuses traditional skills with contemporary innovation. Over the last 10 years, we have invested huge sums in cutting edge technology to ensure Merrell Casting maintains its reputation as a go-to manufacturer.
Our Mission
We offer solutions at every stage of the jewellery manufacturing process. Our customers can expect precision casting, rapid prototyping, vulcanised rubber or cold silicone moulding, laser welding and mass finishing.
We take as much care over one-off, bespoke designs as we do large orders, giving you the option to build a library of master models, CAD renders and hand-carved waxes unique to your business.
Our Ethics
Operating ethically and transparently has long been part of our ethos at Merrell Casting. We are Certified by the Responsible Jewellery Council, operate as a Fairtrade Gold Ambassador and offer our customers ethically sourced Canadian Diamonds.

Our British Made Promise
Since 1953, we have prioritised British craftsmanship and in-house production to give customers a viable, cost-effective and ‘British Made’ option for their jewellery.
We are a pioneer of the ‘Created in the UK’ initiative, led by the National Association of Jewellers (NAJ), and we can offer the special ‘Created in the UK’ hallmark to your pieces through our on-site Assay Office.

Our Parent Company
Our parent company Hockley Mint specialises in finished jewellery collections, engagement rings, wedding bands and eternity rings that are designed to hit the shelves straight away. All Hockley Mint collections can be adapted by our in-house team to suit your requirements, including alternative stone sizes and cuts.
